West Pittston Library Announces 2009-2010 Annual Campaign

Annual Campaign chairs Rosella Fedor-Purcell and Amy Hetro are happy to announce that the start of the West Pittston Library's 2009-2010 Annual Campaign. Be sure to check your mailbox for the green appeal packets in early October. You can also download a donation card by clicking here

Although the state budget has been passed, individual line items, including those for libraries, remain fluid. At one point legislators were proposing to slash library funding by over fifty-percent. This is a critical time to show your support of your community library by contributing to the Annual Campaign. The West Pittston Library depends on the generosity of community members like you to provide free essential services to patrons such as convenient hours, new books and DVDs, enrichment programs, and access to computers. We need your help to continue providing these services.

Over the past six months your library has added a variety of programs for children, teens and adults, and we have more to come during our First Annual Fall Festival. You may have seen Garrett Barr from the King's College Biology Department leading groups on Nature and Bird Walks around town. Maybe your grandchild invited you to the Summer Reading Program Art Show. Perhaps you and your family participated in the Family Scavenger Hunt. Or maybe your house was nominated for the West Pittston in Bloom Garden Contest. Whatever your connection to the library, we hope that you support our services and programs by donating to the Annual Campaign and encouraging your friends and neighbors to do the same.

The West Pittston Library is honored to hold a special place in this community. It has a long, successful tradition, which is due to the support it receives from its patrons, the community at large, its hard working staff and dedicated board members. We thank you for your past support and hope that you will be as generous as you can when you are planning your Annual Campaign donation.

If you have not received an Annual Campaign packet and you wish to donate to the library, please stop by the library or call 570-654-9847 and a staff member will mail you a packet. If you are interested in including the West Pittston Library in your estate planning, please stop by the library and talk to the director, Anne Bramblett Barr
